Shiny Object Syndrome

If you have been reading this blog you probably think I babble on and on - first, you are correct, 2nd, you can move on anytime :)

I haven't even told my 'full' story on here because it would take 3 blog pages for me to get all the history and story on here...Long story short, I've done and tried a lot...

What I want to talk about it Shiny Object Syndrome. How many different programs or even just ad resources have you tried? If you've been online marketing for more than an hour you will see SO MANY things to try and buy -

1st month I was online I had Big Red Button syndrome. I think Shiny Object Syndrome is a more apt description, but I basically had visions of Easy $$$$ - I signed up for an affiliate program, joined a traffic exchange and sent 100 hits to it...In my mind, at the time, I was already envisioning my 1st check for several hundred bucks and how easily this was all gonna be...

Didn't take long for me to realize didn't work QUITE that easy :)

The point, I'm TRYING to get back to, is that every single product or service online can be catchy and flashy - These guys know what they are doing, believe me...It's flash and promises of overnight wealth - When we don't hit that overnight wealth, we scream SCAM, right? That's what happens - we get online, thinking it's a piece of cake, send me my money...no money comes in, it's a SCAM

never realizing that maybe it needs to be treated like a business and you need to look at it like your BUILDING a business from home...

I'm off point again - My biggest problem was shiny object syndrome...I would join program after program, use this new ad exchange, this new safelist, this new traffic exchange - Guys & Gals, I used to spend 2-3 hours each night surfing 8-10 traffic exchanges EVERY SINGLE NIGHT...I put the time in and still got no results

I wasn't focused - I didn't realize that I needed 100% focus on 1 thing, repetitively (i'm not going to talk about the lack of value in traffic exchanges/safelists/etc)

Stat Time: 92% of online marketers make LESS than $100/month - A new person jumps into the online marketing world every 2 seconds...

We have 92% of MILLIONS of people FAILING...

You must maintain absolute focus on 1 thing in order to succeed - You cannot bounce around trying to promote 5 different things.

Looking back, I didn't have the results I wanted...But I realize that I DID get results when I focused. I got over 1,200 people to join my personal mailing list at affiliate curve - How? I advertised nothing but that for 6 months. I have 300+ referrals at traffic exchanges like Traffic-Splash, WebBiz Insider, ILoveHits, EasyHits4U etc - Why? Because I did traffic exchange profits exclusively for MONTHS. I got over 300 signups in GDI and made the leaderboard for nearly 2 months straight - How? By advertising JUST GDI over and over and over...

Theres more, but i'm trying to stay on point (really, I am haha)

You must maintain absolute focus on 1 thing - you can't bee bop around trying this and that and then moving right on when you don't get results from it. Unless you are a 'big dog' in the online marketing world, you will not succeed.

Why am I focused on Instant Payday Network? For me, it's simple: I just promote 1 page. My only goal is to get a lead - Everything else is built in and automated. MyCashFreebies & DoubleMyCashFreebies pay me $20 & $30 for referrals who complete FREE Offers. Behind this is Empower Network, a residual income builder that has produced some staggering income results for thousands of people.

My only job is to drive traffic - that is something I can do - There is definitely better traffic, and that costs money, but I'm not promoting 4 different pages or links - I just say "check this out", hope to get a lead, and hope that lead follows up and sees the beauty of Instant Payday Network...

It's still a saturated market, and with the traffic sources i 'know', it's not good quality (16k clicks in month 1, 31 leads....02% opt in when the big dogs are getting 10%+ opting in) But again, that's my free traffic and it takes me 5 min's per day -

Find what works for you, find what you want to achieve, and STAY FOCUSED - wow, i went more than a little off point there :)

I must get more organized :)

This week I purchased an Ezine and a solo ad from $20 solo's - According to the email I received, the $20 solo ad site hasn't sent me any clicks, yet I have 5 leads just today (phenomenal by the way, when i normally get 1-2 leads in a day - 5 in an hour is nice)

My 'tracking' has been to only send 1 ad at a time - see how it goes - see if I want to use them again...

That's not real organized...I need to be able to track where i'm getting QUALITY traffic from...

Still, 5 leads in an afternoon is good - more leads = more conversions, plain and simple...The point of getting organized would be to spend my time/energy/money on sites that convert the best...

course i'm so disorganized I don't really know where to start GETTING organized :)

This weekend I got paid $58 for my 1st commission from Instant Payday. Again, this isn't a TON of money, but it points to the fact that IPDN works. I'm excited about it and that commission was earned from JUST free resources I already had in place.

I'm not spending HOURS blasting free ads or anything - I am spending maybe 5-10min's/day sending out safelist emails.

I have to stay focused though, and I have to stay motivated.

Yesterday I ordered 2 ezine ads and will post results as they come in. I spent $28 for both of them - I am reinvesting my profits into advertising....as much as I can anyway :)

This month my goal is to make $500.

My goal for June is $1,000

$500 for a month is only a $20/day average...This is easily attainable, in my opinion - I just need to advertise and maintain my focus.

I'm starting with the Ezine ads. My next is to advertise on BING - I'm hoping to start with $100 there and tweak my campaigns until they start bringing in 20 - 30 leads daily. As I earn more commissions, I can up this advertising and hopefully get this up to 50+ leads every day.

I still need to shoot some YouTube videos. I think YouTube is a fantastic source of traffic -

Again, lots of options and lots on my 'to do' list - I'm blogging and advertising though and the leads are coming in. Just have to keep taking action.

Are you in Instant Payday Network Yet?

So many ideas that I'm kinda discombobulated :)

I've had a ton of ideas running through my head the past week or so...I'm going to try 'short & sweet' entries here though...I need to keep myself on track and motivated.

This may sound corny but what really turned my mindset around lately was listening to Jeff Buchanan and his 'dead broke to 35k/month' - Not because it's inspired me to chase the money making dream...more because i was in a severe funk, and it just woke me up.

1 of my favorite lines from the video is "Your Still Breathing" - See for the past several months I've been in that kinda funk. I went bankrupt after Zeek Rewards was shut down - I had gone through nearly $80k in 3 years...Chasing instant wealth and ez money (trying to keep this short haha)

For the past 3 or 4 months i was just DOWN. I think I hit that point where there wasn't anyone to blame but myself. All these things I had done had all failed and it was on me...All the money, all the time, all the whatever it was - I kept chasing all these things i "thought" i wanted...better shorten this or i'm gonna be in therapy soon :)

When I started Instant Payday Network, honestly, I did it because I needed to change my focus. I couldn't sit around feeling sorry for myself, I could blame other people for where I was, and I needed to quit pissing away all my money gambling and drinking...I already had done affiliate marketing before - I already had resources in place, paid for years ago...I thought, "if nothing else, at least i'll spend my time on THIS, instead of at a slot machine, or a baccarat table, or googling winning gambling strategies".

I also got off my ass and started hiking - there is a frisbee golf course just min's from my house so when my son goes to his mom's house, I just pop down there and play for an hour+ every night - So far it's equating to 6-10 hours of hiking/walking each week - is it crossfit? No, but it's walking and i've been doing it every night for a month now.

I'm wandering again but I watched a few videos while getting into Instant Payday..Jeff's message turned things for me. You know, screw the people who don't believe in you - Do it anyway. If your breathing, you have hope...I watched another video where 90% of it was "JUST DO IT" (i think Nike stole this campaign haha)

And that's what I'm doing - Just do it - I spent too much time thinking about it, hoping it would get better, hoping i'd "get lucky"

So I'm in TAKE ACTION mode - I already have multiple resources in place...I used to be good at this, despite limited results...and it keeps my mind healthier - Every night I go get my hike in, though I still suck at Frisbee Golf :) and every day I post ads and look for new resources...

If you join Instant Payday Network, you will find LOTS of resources in the back office...USE THEM, and you can start getting signups - JUST TAKE ACTION

and maybe 6 months from now, you won't be starting over with what you SHOULD have been doing today :)
Well, today I'm pretty excited. I got my first commission from MyCash Freebies ($33)

Is this a ton of money? No - hell, i get paid nearly $30/hr at my job - But, it's a pretty nice feeling. It feels nice because that means this WORKS. I haven't even begun paid advertising yet, I only have 31 prospects and have only been doing safelist/traffic exchanges...

I used to spend a TON of money recruiting for GDI. I put all my focus into it and spent a bunch of money. I even offered to pay people's 1st month fee of $10. I made the leaderboard for several weeks in a row - Not huge numbers but I pulled 10-15 new signups a week for a few weeks.

What was the problem with that? I was doing all that work, spending all that money, to get $1/month from each...Now, the goal of course was that each of those people would work on their business and I would get that $1/month from each of there downline (5 levels, standard MLM)

That just didn't happen though...At my highest I had 157 active members in my GDI Downline. I earned $212 that month.

If you have ever tried recruiting for GDI, you know how hard it is to get a couple signups - To have that many signups and only make $200...well, it isn't worth it - And if I didn't keep spending and keep recruting, it died...I went broke building my GDI downline and as soon as I stopped pumping money into it, it died within a few months.

With Instant Payday Network, I don't NEED a downline to make money. I get paid $20 for level 1 at MyCashFreebies and another $30 for DoubleMyCash Freebies for each member that joins and completes the free trial.

$50, cash, for something they can do free - No monthly fees and they only have to do it 1x - They don't have to do a new trial each month.

This isn't to say I don't care if my signups succeed or not - I do and I am setting up stuff to help my recruits start advertising and get their own signups and referrals as well. I remember what it's like starting out. Very frustrating and tons of work with no results...It's no wonder so many people quit, it's exhausting...I'm just stubborn as hell :)

What I'm saying is that in my experience, most people who sign up for this are not going to do anything with the program. Expectations or inability to take action, whatever it may be, most people just don't take action...For those people, I can still make a pretty good commission if they just complete a step or 2 -

I haven't even gotten into Empower Network. I'm literally so broke that all my money is going to past due bills right now...So to get a commission equivalent to 33 GDI members, for something I've been advertising free is pretty nice.

I'm taking 1/2 the money and buying a solo ad - I've got to reinvest into this business and make it work :)
